This is not suitable for use in the UKThis is not suitable for use in the UK, yet it does not say that anywhere in the description and it is for sale on MyMotorhomeLife.co.uk. Really irritating.

NOT FOR UK USE!Caveat Emptor!Although widely promoted on UK MyMotorhomeLife this fan will NOT work in the UK.Should have an advisory telling potential UK based customers that, even with a adaptor, This fan will not work. The rating is 110v and should you plug it into a UK plug it will overheat, smoke then pack up!
Mr. S. Dickson –
Worked for 10 seconds, then produced nasty smoke and diedI bought this and used the correct US to UK adaptor but it lasted all of 10 seconds before burning out. Looks good but unusable.
Stanmore –
Shouldn’t be available to UKAbsolutely great product, but US voltage and 60Hz product should not be made available to UK without warning. A step down transformer will not change AC frequency so this cannot be used in the UK.

The best made and most stylish, new, electric fan made. Period.First off, I read some of the negative reviews and I can’t figure out what product they were reviewing. I’m being honest, not snarky. You cannot buy a better made electric fan than this. It does not exist. The quality is at least as good, if not better and certainly safer than the original Vornado, introduced in 1945. Noise is almost non-existent on the low speed and completely tolerable on the high speed. It’s appearance is unbeatable, when compared to any number of 1,000 different plastic units I’ve witnessed, which are complete garbage and won’t last two seasons. The performance surpasses excellent and the build quality is superior. With a 5-year warranty, it’s worth every nickel of the price. Buy with complete confidence, because there is no one alive more picky than I am about appliances and ignore the negative reviews.

Powerful, Durable & AttractiveWe’ve had this fan for three years. It was our solution to the lack of a vent air fan for the bathroom in a 100 year old house. It lived in there for most of these past three years, subjected to daily use and moisture. We had absolutely zero issues with it. On occasion it was moved to other rooms during the hottest days and is currently in use almost non-stop, all-day, every-day, in a small closet-like room that is our home office (Covid-19 shelter-in-place). This little fan is a champ, moving air really well. It is an attractive fan for our vintage/antique/simple aesthetic. It is tiny, a plus for our little house. It is no-frills and easy to operate. The only downside is that it makes a fair amount of noise for something so little… that said, it is a powerful little beast and anything moving as much air as this does, open like a fan, is bound to make noise. It is worth it to us, no question. I definitely recommend this fan and if I have occasion to need another fan I’d get one of these (in whatever size suited the situation).

Not a Vornado fan fanWhat a disappointed. On the plus side, it’s cute. Beyond that there isn’t much positive to say about it. It was supposed to circulate the air in a small room. I put it in my tiny bathroom and only felt the air moving if I stuck my face or hand right in front of it. It’s unclear to me why it gets such good overall reviews. I have another tiny Vornado that was meant to be used on a desk or something similar so that it blows directly on you. That one barely moved the air at all.It didn’t even make my hair blow. I’m not sure why Vornado fans, which are reasonably high priced, are considered good fans. I must be missing something.

Died in two years, but Vornado replaced for free with no-nonsense customer supportI own five Vornado fans of various sizes, from the Sr to the Jr to the personal fan version, all purchased through MyMotorhomeLife in the past three years. Most, but not all, mostly serve as white noise generators. This VFAN JR died almost two years to the day I received it. It ran about 7 hours a day for white noise and a light breeze for my son as he sleeps. It’s the first Vornado fan that’s given me any trouble. The company replaced it with a new one after I contacted them on their website. I only had to send a photo of my dead fan with the cord cut to show that it really was not working (and I was not trying to trick them). Took about a week from the time it died until I had the new one. Cost me nothing to replace. I did not have to send the dead one back either. A great experience in customer service with a warranty item! I don’t think many companies handle warranty claims this well anymore, especially with something I purchased online. Most seem to want you to send it to them first so that they can make sure it really is dead and you are not trying to cheat them. But Vornado is no-nonsense with handling claims.I will definitely buy more Vornado fans. . They back up their five year warranty. My family loves the retro metal styling. My favorite for generating white noise for sleeping is the mini model. The Jr moves more air and also is decent for white noise. It’s a tad noisier, but my son doesn’t mind.

Great airflow and build quality – so why is the bearing so bad!?****2/27/18 UPDATE****Down to 1 star.Every single one of these fans develops the grating/screeching/grinding problem. Vornado’s response is to have you destroy your fan (cut power cord at base), send them a picture with power cord and serial number in the photo, and then ship you a new one. They do this relatively quickly, but it’s a huge waste. Going to go through yet another replacement and hope that 8 months later they’ve improved their manufacturing process, but I’m not hopeful.****Original Review****This is my 3rd VFAN Jr. All 3 of them have developed a high-pitched grinding noise. Have it in both white (at home) and Chrome (at my desk at work). Chrome at work developed high pitched whine, Vornado quickly and easily replaced fan for me, new fan developed same grinding noise within a few days. Completely unacceptable for the price. Fan at home also developed grinding noise within about 2 weeks. Recommend avoiding if in a situation where you’ll hear the fan noise. I’m living with it until I get motivated enough to disassemble and figure out what’s causing it.I’ll note that I have this fan in standard and large sizes as well – those are performing just fine and have not developed the same sound. It’s only the Jr. model that does it.

The small fan is great for a small space where the fan will hit …I purchased the small and medium fan. They are both so close in size and didn’t know which to pick. The small has 2 speeds, the large has 3. The lowest speed will most likely not be used because it’s too low and equivalent to someone standing next to you and blowing in your face…The small fan is great for a small space where the fan will hit you directly – like a desk. The larger one is only a tad more powerful but will do a better job circulating air in a small room. I posted photos of the small and medium fan side by side for comparison. Also – The color of the fan is lovely but not as bright as seen in the photos. It has a more vintage mint green color, not as bright as in photos.
