  1. I Buy Stuff

so i was looking at buying this puller for a while, and man when i saw the price drop to 69 bucks i couldn’t hit buy quick enough. the first time i used this set was doing wheel hubs on my 04 suburban, and man were they rusted on there. anyone who lives in Michigan knows the pain of rust and garbage roads. the first one i did i didn’t yet have the tool yet, so i tried all the usual methods. eventually i got it by working my way around with a chisel. now when i did the other side i had the tool, so i took the wheel hub adapter set it up sprayed a little home-brew penetrating fluid (Dexron ATF fluid and Acetone) let that sit and hammered away. 15-20 whacks and off she came. Second time i used the tool, I was doing my rear wheel bearings. I used GEARWRENCH Rear Axle Bearing Puller Set – 41710 and man oh man that was a quick job. so if you live in the rust belt do yourself a favor and pick one of these up.

Having the right tool saves you time and money. I built a custom bolt/pressure puller (2 hours) and had a 2.5lb slide hammer and I could not get the axle out of my bobcat. I heated it, used penetrating oil and pounded on it for at least 2 days and no luck. 3 hits with this hammer and it was out. Quality tool and case.

  3. DeaAlexandris

It works great as a slide hammer- I had some particular issues with the size and shape of certain attachments throughout my rear end rebuild I was using this to pull bearings out of. But I’m definitely keeping it around.

  4. Elwood014

Quality made tool, easy to use

  5. Daniel Alvarado

On occasions one is insecure with online purchases because of the quality, that is why it is important to see people’s comments. I liked the product, it has good quality, the cover, the tool is a good purchase.

  6. Spence

    Strong well made tool

  7. Tracy G.

Excellent slide hammer overall, fantastic kit. Pulled the rear axles with overall ease. Just had to grab on and lean back to put the weight on the slide as I started to hammer. Figured out it was all about technique after pulling the first axle.

  8. Calvin Ortiz

Pulled a stuck axle in seconds

  9. Jessie

Seems well made. Comes in a nice case and has multiple uses. So far I have only used it to pull crankshaft balancer and a couple pulleys. I’m happy with my purchase and would buy again.

  10. Going in raw

-1 star.. U have to mod to fit 8lug. – 1 star..The screw puller is too big

  11. christjan bidwell

I went cheap on the first slide hammer I bought and it bent within the first 2 minutes of using it. Went with the gear wrench slide hammer second time around and you could feel the quality and sturdiness in their product immediately. Pay a little more and save yourself the headache of returning a cheaply made one.

  12. Myaircraft

    Perfect, works great.

  13. Juan Tavares

good tool for my tool box

  14. Dre

A heavy duty tool but no directions.

  15. G M

Does what it claims to do I Milled a hole in the center of some old cast iron dumbbells to give me variable weight options 10 & 25 Lbs “a must in the rust belt” but the tool itself comes with the connectors and tips needed to remove “almost every CV axle ” (Almost) Meaning some Toyota owners will have to get creative or buy a special tip to use this on select Toyota models mainly drivers side CV axles that have a deeper recess before you can grab the notch on the axle. Yaris Corolla, Echo, Vitz , Scion XA & XD.But it works great for most other applications and IMO it’s a time saver thus it’s money well spent

  16. Icebryce

Good slide hammer but the attachment to pull front hub assembly on a ram 1500 did not fit around wheel studs… ended up reaming the hole to fit and ultimately just beat the hubs of with a hammer (bfh) insteadThey were to stubborn

  17. NICK WILLIAMS

I took my time making a decision to buy this product, but I was definitely impressed with the quality and performance. Two thumbs up!

  18. nick

Used it for pulling a broken gimbal baring on my boat. Pulled it right out.

Awesome set for diy, hobby or even for daily use. It has almost everything you need…. Almost. RV packaging sucks but got here without cracks on the case. Case was plastic wrapped 👍🏻

  21. James L Margrave Jr

Tool worked well once it arrived. Some confusion with shipping, but actually arrived on time

  22. Michael Calhoun

Heavy duty slide hammer set is as good or better than more expensive kits and works well. The plastic storage case makes it easy to transport and store.

  23. Kamran Khan

Works like a charm and comes in sturdy box with all the necessary attachments. I used it for removing rear wheel hub of my 2011 toyota RAV4. After 17 seconds of slide hammer action, the hub came out without any problems. Even though the wheel hub was very rusted. I love this tool.

  24. d patrick

I love this tool works great and is of great quality. The bonus part is the case it comes in very heavy duty and handy for storing this tool.

  25. Ryan

Used this to replace all the bearings and seals on a 12 bolt rear end in a 1967 Camaro. Worth the money to make the job easy.
