Description
Valvoline VR1 high zinc racing motor oil provides race-level protection for high performance engines on the race track or the highway. Its exclusive chemistry is designed to reduce friction and enhance power. It is among the most popular engine lubricants in all types of racing including paved and dirt ovals and drag racing.
Formulated for race engines, and compatible with passenger vehicles too, Valvoline VR1 oil is recommended for high-performance gasoline engines as well as those burning full or partial alcohol fuels. Every motor oil we make provides better protection against the four major causes of engine breakdown: heat, friction, wear and deposits. Because an original never stops improving.
Valvoline’s first breakthrough in motor oil was introducing it. And we’ve been re-inventing it ever since, from the world’s first high mileage oil to the world’s first synthetic blend. Valvoline became the first trademarked motor oil brand in 1866. Over the last 100 years as engine technology has evolved, so has motor oil technology, and Valvoline has been innovating all the way. Not only have we been making motor oil longer than anyone else, we’ve been improving it longer than anyone else. There are those who change with the times and those who drive them.

Best oil for old bikesIf you’re riding an old bike with flat tappets and a shared primary. This is the oil for you. Heavy zinc to protect your cam and no garbage to make your clutch slip. Been running this in my 1966 Triumph 650 for 10 years trouble free. It doesn’t even leak, but I can’t guarantee that for your bike.

Works well for old school engines.Oil is hard to quantify, so many brands, types and misinformation. VR1 is expensive but non synthetic oil with all the additives for flat tappet cams and older engine designs is hard to find. I run some good spring pressures and with my classic cars sitting a fair bit it provides more protection that I probably need so well worth it. No issues so far.

Great high zinc oilAmazing oil with high phosphorus and zinc for the old flat tappets. When mix blend is not available I will use straight weight mixed with other high zinc oil and 50 wt acts like a oil stabilizer except it actually works. Also some of the older high mileage cars we use 2 qt of 50wt with 3 qt of 10w30 and it’s makes for a nice thicker viscosity especially in the summer and early fall months and helps the tired older motors with excessive clearances. Great oil and I highly recommend it. Thanks RV for offering this.
