Description
WIX XP filters are recommended for OEM oil and filter change intervals, typically 3,750 to 10,000 miles. This filter traps up to 100% more dirt and contaminants than WIX to resist premature plugging due to oil breakdown. Fully synthetic media withstands the harsh oil temperatures and conditions. Suitable for the Honda EV6010 RV generator.
A specifically formulated HNBR gasket provides an excellent seal during extreme cold engine starts and resist hardening under elevated oil temperatures. When applicable, WIX XP silicone antidrain back valve protects against dry starts past the traditional filter change interval.
Oil Filter Laboratory Test Performance per ISO 454812 32 grams dirt (51515XP), 99% efficient at 35 microns (Based on 51515XP 51356XP, 57060XP).

This gets a one star rating due only to the fact that it is not the correct filter for engine oil.This filter is for earlier Subaru transmissions, not for engine oil. Even though listed as an oil filter , it does not have the correct bypass rating for 2010 and other year Foresters. The bypass rating should be around 23 PSI, not 9-11 PSI. The correct engine oil filter is: WIX 57712XP for synthetic oil.

This filter was mislabeled and did not fit.
My 2003 Subaru Outback with automatic transmission had previously used a NAPA 1365 filter which is the earlier version of the WIX 51365XP. I pre-ordered the XP version and after a wait I received it and changed my ATF. I then tried to swap the filter. The 51365XP was physically identical and had the same size threaded hole but the thread was a different pitch. It was difficult to start and tightened approximately 3/4 turn before seizing. I did not attempt to force it and had to reinstall the used filter. Since the product information recommends the 51365 for that transmission, I must assume that some of the early filters were incorrectly labeled. I will be requesting a refund.

This is the wrong filter for your Subaru. The correct wix filter is 57712 which has better flow and follows the design specifications.

The package says “designed for sull-synthetic oil” and “oil filter” but the Amazom description says good for Subaru 4AT transmission filter as well. I have used this as a transmission filter in the past without any problem. Also, Wix web sites says this is good for Subaru Impreza and WRX (2006, didn’t check other years).
