Ms Polly Vinyl –
I love the portable power station. So far it has done fantastic in tests with my fridge, charging my bike, etc. outperforming my expectations. And the regular charge from 34% to 100% was quiet, and really took no time at all. Really impressed with the speed of the recharge. I don’t see myself very often bumping it to fast charge for more noise and maybe 15 min quicker. Now the unit arrived about 4 days early, which surprised me. Since the delivery date is 24-26, today’s the 23rd, I’m not going to complain yet about the solar panels not being here, but I have seen that comment on a few reviews, perhaps they were just impatient..Update: Received the solar panels on the 24th. Have yet to test them.

I’m constantly powering an older Dometic 45 liter fridge with this. Every few days I charge a laptop, phone, and a couple of small usb devices. I recharge the Jackery every time I drive my van. Some days I may only drive 15 minutes. Other days I drive a couple of hours. This more than adequately meets my needs- much to my surprise. I can probably go 2 weeks before I need to find a wall outlet to fully top it back up (or run my van on a several hour trip).Downsides:12v output to run my fridge/usb devices occasionally turns off for no reason. The Bluetooth connection to my phone disconnects after a while- which for me completely defeats the point of having it- if I recently looked at it I probably know hour the battery is doing. For me this feature is more of a gimmick to use their app.No cigarette lighter charging cable was included. The older model it replaced appeared to include this. This newer version can not have additional batteries linked into it.No obvious way to hard mount it.The 12v input connector is difficult to find online.I would like more than one of the older style usb connections. I often have to swap out cables once I finish charging one device.

I ordered the 1000 v2 and solar panels. They shipped as two separate packages. The generator arrived on time.According to RV and the shipper the panels arrived today. But they didn’t. We’ll see what Jackery does to resolve this. This is generally a commentary on Jackery itself. For a quality company, they do seem to have issues with customer service, as in this case. As that is part of the whole experience, it seems like something they should pay better attention to. Once I get the panels I will review the package, but until they’re here, that’s a bit hard to do.

When the last Nor’easter hit, we had all the emergency prep stuff we needed–except a backup power supply! Our outages normally last a day or so, but with downed trees and power lines, some of us go without power for a week or more. With packed refrigerators and freezers, ‘out on the deck’ only works in the winter or with enough ice. Bottled water, no showers, and unflushed toilets get old fast. No more!!Let’s start with Jackery shipping of our Explorer 1000 Portable Power Station–Their packaging is second-to-none! Sturdy, cushioned, reusable. In other words, I was more than pleasantly surprised (compared to other popular shippers). The unit came with a 32% charge on it, but we immediately plugged it into a wall outlet, charging it to 100% in about an hour. It’s been hazy, hot, and humid around here so we ran a 5000-BTU air conditioner for 3+ hours with power to spare. We can even recharge our Jackery Explorer 100 Plus when we need to, which will power our router while we’re working. With 3 AC and 3 USB outlets, we’re ready to run whatever we need during the next outage (and it’s definitely coming)…phones, laptops, fridge, freezer, well pump, septic pump, microwave, and more. We’re all set, especially since we also invested in some Jackery solar panels. :)We’d prefer more pronounced outlet/inlet labelling on the unit, but other than that, it’s great!

I recently purchased the Jackery 1000 v2 generator, and it has exceeded my expectations in both emergency situations and camping trips. This generator is powerful enough to run a tower fan, floor lamp, mini freezer, and even a 1000W electric stove. Its performance in emergencies is outstanding, and the included cables for connecting solar panels add extra utility. Living in sunny California, it’s easy to keep it charged. I can camp in the shade while keeping items charged in the sun for a few hours, and even unplugging the refrigerator for a while doesn’t lead to a significant temperature drop. One of the best features is its silent and emission-free operation, making it perfect for indoor use. It eliminates the need to store fuel for gas generators, which is a huge plus. The power output is sufficient for charging phones, laptops, and other devices multiple times from 0-100%, and it also effectively powers a fridge. The ability to charge via solar while supplying power is fantastic. With full sun, the solar panels can contribute up to 100W while devices draw power, making it feel like free energy for smaller devices.Overall, the Jackery 1000 v2 offers exceptional portability and reliability, making it an excellent choice for both emergency backup power and outdoor adventures.

Having previously used two other power sources I am impressed with the new Jackery. One requirement for me is that a battery power source should be able to run a microwave oven, implying a minimum rating of 1500W.Over the past year I have purchased (from RV) three battery portable power stations — Bluetti AC180, VTOMAN Jump 1500X and most recently a Jackery Explorer 1000 v2. All three of these use lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells. These are preferable for their cycle life, i.e., they lose capacity more slowly than “lithium ion.” Both LiFePO4 and lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) chemistries are in fact lithium ion batteries, but for simplicity and marketing purposes manufacturers have settled on calling lithium cobalt oxide cells “lithium ion.”To compare the three batteries I did a rundown test powering a microwave oven. The operating times and implied efficiencies were as follows:Bluetti AC180 ……………………..42.7 min………75.8%………..$549VTOMAN Jump 1500X ………..27.7 min………68.5%………..$440Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 …….45.1 min………86.3%……….$629 Assuming the energy ratings for each are as advertised, the measured runtimes imply the above efficiencies. If the capacity is actually higher then the efficiency is lower, and vice versa. The most important thing from the user perspective is the runtime. However, the lower efficiency of the VTOMAN requires a very noisy fan, which runs continuously when powering the microwave oven.I’ve also shown the latest prices for the three battery power stations. Bluetti and VTOMAN have significantly cut their prices since I purchased their products. That is likely due to the increased competition from new units such as the Jackery 1000v2. If you really cannot pay over $500 the VTOMAN will work, especially if you mostly use it to charge your electronic devices using the USB outputs. It’s just that the efficiency is very low for high power loads. And of course there are other brands that are not included in this comparison.Lastly, although the Jackery outperforms the other two, it’s also significantly lighter. Some may not care, but this is a feature that I do appreciate. If you do shop for a Jackery power source make sure that you are buying the newest version of the Explorer 1000. They really should have done more to distinguish between the two battery chemistries.Note: The microwave rundown test was not done continuously. While boiling water, it was one minute on and a minute or so off. This allows some cooling time, and more closely approximates a typical user case.

I purchased the 1000 v2. and received within 4 days. The item was packaged well. Today was the first opportunity I had to test the 1000. The item charged quickly. The first items I tried were a small lamp, a box fan, and my phone. I also ran the built in light. After two hours, only 15% of the power was used. I then moved the power station to my 7.0 cubic ft. apartment-sized refrigerator, and the box fan. Again after two hours, it used about 15%. I was very pleased with the results. I could not give a 5 because of the power button. I had trouble pressing and holding the right spot to get the 1000 to shut down. It took several tries. The unit is just under 25 pounds, which may sound portable. I am a senior, so it was somewhat heavy for me to move. I have a small cart, if I need transport from one area to another. My 3000 pro has wheels, which makes moving much easier. This unit will come in handy for power outages. For prolonged outages, I have a fuel generator that I will use during the day, and the 1000, and my 3000pro at night. I can keep both charged from the fuel generator. I have already had to do that with the 3000 pro. It works well. I am considering a second purchase for a family member.

I will never purchase another Jackery product from anywhere after this purchase. Jackery not only didn’t send the advertised free gift Explorer 100 Plus for the RENEGOTIATED promo price (reduction) after order in progress to match their current price or face my total return, but before my return of item 1 was processed, they matched the lower price but wouldn’t send the gift. After the price match, I was also expecting the free gift for item 1, so I also ordered another unit (item 2) at the same promo price and RV was STILL advertising the free gift of the E100 Plus. It’s now weeks later, and now all I get are dumb crickets after explaining their fraudulent advertising on RV to them multiple times. Never again with Jackery, because they can’t be trusted. I should have returned item 1 and never ordered the second one. Classic Bait and Switch on their “free gift” business from Jackery, with incompetent poor communications.

I purchased this unit to prepare for the hurricane season in Florida. Although I haven’t had a chance to use it during an outage, I have been using it extensively over the past week to test its reliability in keeping the household functioning smoothly. Here’s a detailed account of how I utilized this powerhouse:I set up the Explorer 1000 v2 in a central location within my home for easy access. The first priority was to connect the refrigerator to prevent food spoilage. The 1500W AC output was more than sufficient to keep it running without any hiccups. I also connected a portable air conditioning unit to test it, as outages often happen during particularly hot spells. The power station handled both appliances simultaneously, and I am satisfied with the results. With the power station’s multiple charging ports, I was able to keep all our essential communication devices powered. I used the 100W PD USB-C ports to quickly charge smartphones and a tablet. The fast charging ensured our phones were ready to use much quicker than standard chargers, keeping us connected to family and emergency services.Throughout the testing, I actively used the Jackery app to monitor the power station’s battery level and manage its output. The app allowed me to switch between charging modes depending on our power needs, which may be helpful in prolonging battery life over several hours of an outage. At night, utilizing the quiet mode was beneficial. It significantly reduced the noise level, allowing my family and me to sleep without disturbance while still powering our fridge and a few fans throughout the night. I also have a gas generator at home, and using the Explorer 1000 v2 is a totally different experience. The absence of generator noise makes you forget the fact that you are using backup power. As for the charging speed, Jackery claims a one-hour recharge feature for the Explorer 1000 v2 when the emergency charging mode is activated in the app. While the one-hour recharge is convenient and charges quickly as advertised, it reverts to normal charging mode after each quick charge. So, I just stick with the normal charging mode most of the time. It takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to recharge the 1000 v2 from 0 to 100%, which is good enough for me.Overall, the Explorer 1000 v2 can be trusted as a backup power source during outages. It’s a versatile, powerful tool that will keep our household safe and comfortable.

The Jackery is a handy little machine with plenty of output power!First, let me say that overall, this is a great little machine. I’ve done all of these things with no problems. It works perfectly for my camping and hurricane season needs. I can charge larger devices in about 30 minutes and only need about 15 minutes to recover without significant loss of power from the larger devices. The Jackery is portable and doesn’t have the weight of a larger device so you can take it anywhere you need a simple power source. Very impressive, it works well and is very reliable.
