Fork is 5 stars. Spoon is 5 starts. Knife is 3 stars. So, the average is slightly above 4 stars overall. The reason that knife is only 3 star is because its blade edge is as thick as its body. And that makes cutting ineffective. I assume that is the limitation of the wood material…making it too thin means easily breakable. Whereas the blade edge of a plastic knife can be made quite thin but with a thick “backbone” for rigidness. Both fork and spoon feel solid and sturdy. In comparison to the plastic ones, I’d say this product (fork/spoon) are much better than the cheaper plastic ones from Walmart. But, not better than the expensive brandname high quality plastic utensils. Overall, I’d say this product is comparable to the plastic utensils of mid level quality…maybe slightly higher than mid level for the fork & spoon.I do see the best benefit for these utensils made of wood. That is, I can burn them in a campfire after using them. They make excellent kindling, specially when they are coated with fat/grease from steak/bacon/sausage, etc. 😉 And, by burning them, the volume of plastic garbage generated from a campground is also reduced.

If you are conscious about helping the earth, switching to these helps. They are functional and sufficient for its intended purpose- one-time cutlery. The spoon could be a bit more curved for sauces or soups but then again you don’t really serve that at parties much so it’s mostly fine. They smooth-ish but that’s wood.

  3. Tony Wilson

This set has multiples of your traditional pieces (knives, spoons, forks), and they’re all functional, to some degree. The knives barely cut, but they’re otherwise good for pairing and eating. I don’t recommend using them if you need a strong edge to cut through something. They’ll disappoint you there. The tines on the fork aren’t very sharp, so you can’t stab into foods to collect them. The tines are also square, without a point, but that is to be expected with wooden cutlery. Lastly, the spoon is not a spoon. There’s no reservoir to collect liquid. It’s basically a flat surface in the shape of a spoon. All of the pieces are also very flimsy. I don’t recommend these at all. You can’t really use them for their intended purpose.

These wooden forks, spoons, and knives are lightweight yet sturdy. They do feel a bit odd in your mouth when you first use them, but you get used to them. They did not scrape the mouth or leave any splinters. When you are done with your meal you can toss them in the compost or you can toss them in your bonfire. Either way, it leaves less trash for our planet. That’s a win in my eyes.

  5. Gandy Dancer

Sturdy wooden utensils that can be composted or used for stating wood stove or other fires after use. I especially like the forks for making scrambled eggs in my non stick copper fry pan which they have no chance of scratching or damaging.

Very happy with these!! When finished using they are great for plant seedling stakes and markers! Will definitely order again!

Not sure how they will work, event not till August. Fork tines seem small

  8. Rooster

These are great for camping, as they can be tossed into the fire after use. The knife cut fine and everything was sturdy. The spoons aren’t very deep for soup or chili but they worked well enough.
