From the manufacturer

Easy to Use, Quick Acting

The adhesive is easily applied directly to surfaces from the tube. This single-component trim adhesive is ready to use without any mixing. Simply apply to a clean surface and then let dry. A quick-acting formula, this adhesive has a working time of approximately 10 to 30 seconds, sets in approximately 15 minutes and fully cures in 24 hours. The fast-acting formula is perfect for affixing trim.

A Strong Bond on Challenging Surfaces

Applying metal and plastic emblems and trim requires an adhesive that creates a permanent bond that won’t loosen over time. 3M Plastic and Emblem Adhesive is made to create permanent adhesion between dissimilar and non-porous materials such as plastic and fully cured painted automotive surfaces, making it one of the popular choice for affixing emblems and trim on vehicles.

Great productThis adhesive works great, I would highly recommend to anyone. Product is very easy to use. The plastic molding on my door had come loose and was drooping down and was barely attached anymore. The key is in the prep work. I wish I got a before picture but I didn’t think about it at the time, but I have a picture of it currently showing that it’s holding up strong. The discoloration on top of the molding in the pictures is not from the glue, just pollen, dirt, etc. I purchased and used the adhesive several months ago and it has not failed so far.

TL;DR Great product. You won’t be disappointed!’I think I’ve maybe have only ever written one review but I had to tell someone about this. Ok so about a month ago my letters in the back of my car fell off. I had to buy replacements for some, other were close by around the car. I’m wondering if crazy glue will get it to stick. I check RV, look at reviews and check comments. I bought this with a ‘what the hell’ attitude. I have no idea what made me choose the coldest day (think 38° but feels like 26°) to try this out but I was not disappointed. I couldn’t feel my fingers out there but I put some on the back of the letter following the shape and a little on the car where the letter was gonna go. I jumped in my car and drove off as soon as my fingers thawed out. When I got home that afternoon I was pleasantly surprised that my letters were still there perfectly. The actual glue is a bit thick and it’ll have those little wisps if you don’t clean off the tip properly. But other than that I love it. The tube is big enough that it makes we want to stick a bunch of other things to my car. Great product. Highly recommend

Great Holding Power- make sure you know what to expect and prep things correctlySo far (about two months) in mixed weather from about 65 degrees to 100 plus, rain, shine, and everything in between, this adhesive is holding the plastic door handle “cleat” onto my wife’s Kia. It was designed from the factory to friction fit onto a fluted stud “poking” out of the door handle assembly, but the thin brittle plastic broke around the cylinder designed to receive the stud. I cleaned all surfaces with denatured alcohol before starting the exercise. I first glued the cleat gasket to the painted metal door (more of friction/squeak-preventer than a gasket; feeling like slippery, but hard polyethylene). I then glued the electroplated chrome plastic (hard, brittle polystyrene, maybe) cleat to the “gasket” and taped the assembly in place overnight while the adhesive set up. The next day, all of the elastic-feel in the surface bonding was gone and the plastic was tight to the metal- very tight- no twist or movement whatsoever. It felt incredibly solid, and as I wrote, after two months- still incredibly solid.NOTE: I did not realize (deficient research) that the 8061 acted like a contact adhesive so you have to pre-coat both contact surfaces, stick them together, pull them apart, wait, then REALLY stick them together. It’s clear in the manufacturer’s instructions (the ones I did not read before purchase). This wasn’t a problem for me, just make sure you follow the appropriate steps. I also hadn’t realized, that the adhesive is thin, almost watery. It WILL run and is difficult to control if you intent to “pool” it. Except where applied very thinly, it seems to retain some of the gumminess, for a long time- maybe forever.Regardless- it has excellent holding power and considering the amount of surface areas in contact for my application, I am thus far impressed. 3M- you may be pricey, but my experience is that rarely is the extra money ill-spent.

so far so goodSuper easy to use and months later, my Honda emblem is still stuck fast! Very happy! Update. Bought in Aug 2022, today 12/5 the H fell off again. Possibly because of the cold weather. I will try again!

So far so goodReapplication of BMW motorcycle fairing emblem. Seems strong enough (better than BMW peel off) hopefully this one won’t blow off & I won’t need to remove it

  7. Redrocker118

Worked great! The letters on my SRX were coming loose on the back of my Cadillac, so I removed them. I cleaned the area and the letters off good with the 3M adhesive remover and then applied some of the adhesive to the letters and replaced them on the vehicle. Glue was tacky enough to hold letters in place, but I lifted the tailgate anyway so gravity had less of a chance to force any of the letters to move. Letters are firmly in place now and I am pleased with this product.

Reattached rear plastic on vehicle.I used this to reattach a panel on the back of my explorer. The panel was cracked and I took it to a body shop to have a replacement panel painted and put on, after a few months it started to come off already. I used this adhesive and it’s been several months and so far has been holding strong.
