Anderson Metals Brass Tube Fitting, Reducing Union, 3/8″ x 1/2″

$7.77

This Anderson Metals brass fitting creates a reducing union to connect two tubes of different diameters with flared tube connections on both ends. Brass ensures corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. It resists mechanical pullout for a more secure connection.

Description

This Anderson Metals reducing union compression tube fitting (#54056-0806) is made of brass, has flared tube connections, and is suitable for use with fuel and gas systems. Brass ensures corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. This reducing union fitting connects two tubes with different diameters. It has flared tube connections on both ends to connect to unthreaded flared tubing. This fitting works with copper, brass, aluminum, or steel tubing. Also, the assembly resists mechanical pull-out for a secure connection, and can be assembled and reassembled without affecting the seal. This reducing union compression tube fitting has an operating temperature range of -65 to +250 degrees F and therefore is suitable for use with fuel and gas systems, plumbing, refrigeration, and vacuum applications.

Tube fittings are components used for connecting, branching, terminating, and changing the direction of tubing in pneumatic and hydraulic systems. They are made of brass, stainless steel, PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), and other materials that resist corrosion and wear. Tube fittings have various types of connections, including threaded, welded, barbed, and push-to-connect (also called one-touch).  Machine tools, airplane and truck controls, and automated production lines (among others) use tube fittings in various applications. These fittings contain lead and are not allowed by federal law to be installed for potable water use in the U.S.A. and its territories.

Anderson Metals manufactures brass fittings, valves, and pipe nipples. The company, founded in 1951, is headquartered in Kansas City, MO.
