A total of 3124 channel combinations are available when the 22 channels are combined with the 142 privacy codes (38 CTCSS/104 DCS). The radios include rechargeable NiMH batteries and a two-port charging dock. May also be used with AA alkaline batteries. Both radios must be tuned to the same channel to communicate.

Great radios for camping tripsI bought these radios for a camping trip at Sequoias. Since theres no cell service these were ideal for communicating car to car. We had no issues with them. The batteries lasted all four days. The flashlight was a nice feature too.

Works fine.So far they work fine. Like any walkie talkie, your not going to get to much distance in hilly terrain but served my purposes well. Buy them.

Although, I gave a 5 star rating on the battery, we haven’t had it long enough to review that point. The volume works extremely well even around loud equipment/machinery. The rubberized grip keeps your hands from slipping off the units. I have purchased many Cobra items in the past and the quality has always been rewarding.

Neighborhood communicatingI purchased these to use to communicate with my child while she played in the neighborhood. I didn’t want to buy her a cell phone just yet so this worked out great. She goes to friends homes that are within a mile radius. I’m inside my home and i can still reach her if she is in her friends’ homes. And they have the privacy channels so no one else listens in which is also very important.
