Believe it or not, this thing actually works great. When doing garden work on sitting on my patio this thing repels those bastards very well. Just a helpful hint, refill the butane yourself. Plenty of videos on how to do it.

My family loves this for our back patio. If we want to sit out and enjoy the evening weather we set this out And get to enjoy the worry free of no bugs. This actually works and keeps mosquitoes, Nats and other flying insects away even if there are sweet drinks or water within the vicinity of the product. Quiet and Odor free. It allows us the ability to not have to put bug spray on. We love using tiki torches to keep bugs away, this is great for day time ot night time usage. Easy to set up, install , and change out cartridges. If you do happen to leave it out in the rain replace the filter paper and let it dry out for a few days in a true dry low humidity area. It will still work. Don’t make it a habit, but we not had issues for accidently leaving it out and giving it a recovery time to be reused again with no issues.

I got this as a birthday gift and it truly works just as detailed. The first time I used it was to go blueberry picking. I kept the canister within 2ft of me at all times and did not experience any problems. I was able to use the same mat 3 times effectively despite the recommended 1 use per mat. The mist has a light scent, but it is not unpleasant and certainly not anything like bug spray. I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want to do after getting out of the shower is put on smelly bug spray so I can go outside. Waiting the recommended amount of time between turning on the canister and venturing outdoors seems to depend on the persistence of your mosquitoes. We have a pond on our property and need to wait the full recommended time even in 80°F full sun. I would definitely get this again myself and will probably get them as gifts for others this coming summer.

Instructions were not very clear ( or it could be me), but you slide it to the on position, wait a few seconds then click to start but it will go right back to the on position. I thought it had to stay on the start. Start is only to light it. It works great, only used it a few times but no pests !!!!

Nice chairs but one box as missing the locking nuts and the washers for a chair and a table. It was honestly faster to go to Lowe’s to get the missing parts, instead of waiting over a week for them from the manufacturer.

The best result of Thermacell Patio Shield Mosquito Repeller if it’s located very close to place where you are sitting. Within the 8′-9’appart it doesn’t work.

This thing is amazing. No smell, No noise, no open flame to have to worry about and it keeps those “spawns from hell” we call mosquitoes away. As long as your not too far from the device of course. But this little guy has range and I highly recommend if you plan on doing some gardening or painting or any kind of hobby outside around mosquito season. A++

This is my first time using the repellant after buying. There is no noise, no scent, shoot if it wasn’t for the heat panel I wouldn’t know it was working. I am usually “prime meat” for mosquitoes so to say I sit outside on a warm night and got 0 bites is a huge accomplishment. My daughter was in the back yard and had 4 bites in 15 minutes so I know mosquitoes are out.

I didn’t get this item for free, so you can trust that my review is solid. Mosquitos are pretty picky about who they prey upon. They prefer a particular scent and blood chemistry which is why I can understand why the reviews range from “didn’t work” to “changed my life.” Let’s face it – when you’re in an area where mosquitos are so thick that you can hear them buzzing and watch them landing on your skin, you should just go inside. Not much is going to save you. However, if you’re like me and your skin lights up with a neon sign for the mosquitos (and you are the ONLY one they’re biting in a group), you’re happy to try just about anything that will keep them away from you.My husband bought this Thermacell Repeller so I would stop complaining. I still haven’t stopped complaining (sorry, honey), but I have stopped flapping my gums about mosquitos. We put this Repeller out on our porch during the beginning of summer, before the mosquitos were really out and about. About mid-summer I started telling my health care provider (and all of my friends) that I must be going through menopause early or having some major blood chemistry change, because mosquitos were no longer seeking me out of a group. As long as we were outside around our home, I just wasn’t getting a bite. It was miraculous and beautiful. Then we went to a friend’s house. Ouch. They were all over me again. It took me a while to realize (yeah, I’m a little slow) that the reason I wasn’t getting bit at home was because my husband had lit the Thermacell each time we were outside. I honestly didn’t even realize it was on and running. It doesn’t make noise, doesn’t product a smell, and doesn’t really take up any room at all. Pretty dang amazing. We went through 3 scent pads this summer and one fill of butane and it keeps on going. It’s easy to throw in a bag and take anywhere with us. Most everyone who visited this summer has purchased one. I advise you do the same if you’re a mosquito magnet like me. It really is a game changer.
