Very helpful invention – but has started to rustThis is just the type of thing I’ve been needing as I like to shave in the shower….the idea of filling the mirror with warm water to prevent fogging is great. The suction grip is strong (periodically re-attaching helps). The only problem I have some of the chrome components have started to show signs of rust….despite being in a well ventilated area, which unfortunately gives it 4 stars only. Also the mirror needs to be cleaned / wiped frequently if you live in a hard water area (but I guess this is a requirement anyway).

Ironically the only problem is that it doesn’t gripI have two showers which lack any shelving or other accessories and so suction cups are ideal. If they work. Unfortunately the cup used on this one is the usual sort of “press and hope” contraption that will inevitably fall off in time and lasted a month before I binned the cup that came with it and modified a different holder that I had spare so that it could hold the mirror holder from this one. That cup came from this set:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07Y1BJVSN(the photo is of the modified holder)This one has a semi-adhesive backing but more importantly a screw system which ensures a rock-solid wall connection. I’ve been happy since. But with the original suction cup I’d get the inevitable loud crash in the middle of the night between two hours and a week after it was put back up.The mirror itself is fine – it’s not huge but does the job, and the hot water reservoir at the back does a fine job of keeping it condensation-free. It’s just a pity that the thing wouldn’t stay on the wall with the original suction cup.

Dont stick to the walls, will fall all the time! This product is awful! Hopeful as I was cause I love OXO and thought they would not produce something bad, this falls off the wall all the time. I actually got scared because is so noisy when it falls. I have tried it in different surfaces, from marble, to a cheaper quality tile, i have tried in at least 4 different surfaces. And I did not overcharged with super heavy things. The product itself is not good and probably this principle is obsolete in design as well, cause they fall all the time! Plus I got 2 of them and both had 1 of the suckling pad thar barely did stick to the wall.

Suction is awfulSuction is awful. Every couple of days I’m startled awake by the sound of it falling off the tile wall and into the tub.

Breaks after 2nd dropThe suction cup looses suction after 3 months. It drops. The first time it survives. The 2nd drop 3-ish months later, the whole mirror assembly breaks apart and I can’t get it back together. This is my second go and will NOT be buying another. Which is really too bad, but I can afford $20 ever 6 months for a shower mirror.

Perfect shower mirror if you want to die of a heart attack and make it look accidental.I bought this shower mirror so my husband could shave in the shower, and not only does it fog up like you wouldn’t believe, it also doesn’t stay stuck to the wall! If you’re looking for something that makes an insane amount of banging, clanging and clatter as it falls off the wall of your shower three hours after you’ve installed it, this is the one. We’ve tried repositioning, using the attached lever to tighten the suction cup, ignoring that lever, and finally, installing it in an odd position where it falls directly on to the shelf of our torsion rod supported shower caddy! It still sometimes catches us off guard, but it now (usually) lands on the shelf instead of bouncing around the inside of our stone and glass shower enclosure. The one thing I can say in its favor is that it’s apparently indestructible, as it has fallen off the wall at least a dozen times and doesn’t have a scratch on it. If you’re looking for something to shock you into a big heart attack so your family can collect on your life insurance policy, this is the shower mirror for you.

Best Shower Mirror I’ve Ever Owned & The Suction Cup is GreatBefore I saying anything else: THE SUCTION CUP IS GREAT – YOU JUST HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO USE IT. I’m reading all these reviews about how bad the suction cup is. Im guessing it’s because they’re just sticking it to the wall without locking it. The suction cup has a locking mechanism. You have to engage it to get it to work. Once you do, the mirror won’t budge until you unlock it. Now with that, let me do the rest of the review. I’m 57 years old and have been shaving in the shower almost as long as I’ve been shaving. I have sensitive skin and I’m prone to ingrown hairs and shaving in the shower helps a lot. Over the years, I’ve tried many different shower mirrors but this is the easiest and best mirror I’ve ever had. In the past, I’ve had mirrors that attach to the plumbing of the shower head (so that the water circulated through the back of the mirror it in order not to fog). Those were ok but the placement was obviously limited and you had to stand in awkward spot to use the mirror. I’ve had a number of mirrors where the mirror was treated with a coating that supposedly makes them “fogless.” These never really work as well as advertised and I wound up having to coat the mirror with a thin film is soap. Over time the mirror becomes dull and spotted. I even have a built-in shower mirror which is great and looks very good but had one major drawback – it needs about a 5 minute head start to get warm enough so that it doesn’t fog once the shower is turned on. So if I forget to turn the mirror on 5 minutes before I want to shower, I’m basically SOL. I bought this mirror for a second shower and it’s so simple yet ingenious. It mounts with a powerful suction cup (better than the suction cups of the “fogless” versions) but that’s not what makes the mirror so ingenious. Behind the mirror is a reservoir where you pour in warm or hot water which prevents the mirror from fogging. The mirror itself slides off a bracket that is adhering to the shower wall with the suction cup so you don’t need to reattach the whole apparatus each time. It takes literally seconds to remove the mirror, fill it with warm water and slide it back on and your good to go. The mirror will stay fog-free the entire time you’re in the shower. When your done showering, all you do is pour the water out. It is a perfect size – big enough to see your face but not too big to be obtrusive. I only wish they made a smaller travel size version. (The mirror I use for traveling requires you to hold it under the hot water but I usually need to do this 2-3 times while I’m shaving to prevent fog build up.) If you shave in the shower this mirror is the one to have. I can’t recommend it more highly.

Changing review from 1 to 4 star – suction cup works with a hidden lever not in instructionsI called Oxo to complain about the suction cup failing, as noted in many reviews. They pointed out the lever on the back that creates a very strong suction. It is not referenced anywhere on the instructions. The lever is the same color plastic as the back and is hidden under the metal track. Great design foiled by bad documentation.
