Good product but wish it was brighterI ordered this for my aging mother who is having some memory issues and sometimes takes the wrong days pills from her pill planner because she gets confused about what day of the week it is. She also likes knowing how hot/cold it is outside. It works fine but wish it was brighter and that the day was displayed in larger print. I first installed it on her dresser by her TV so it would be infront of her and wouldnt have to roll to on side or other to see it. Also she has so many things plugged in on her nightstands already but have now moved to her nightstand so she can see it better.

I like it!Been using a little AcuRite in/out thermometer for many years. Got tired of having to get so close to it everytime I wanted to see the readings. I first bought a bluetooth unit for $30 thinking I could see what the readings were from anywhere in my house. After logging into my phone, opening the app, and waiting for it to connect I was seeing old data. Indoor temp might be 1 hour old and outdoor 10 minutes old. Ended up having to walk over to the unit to see current readings. So, it wasn’t the solution. Saw this and figured it would be easy to see from across the room, it is, and that’s good enough for me. Was worried that the temps might be off given some other reviews, but it looks like I got a good unit for now, placed both my old and this new unit side by side for a couple hours to acclimate and they’re all reading the same temp. Having worked in an industry for some time that performs physical science monitoring, I’m happy with the price, knowing what a true quality instrument costs.

Works as advertisedI own 2 other La Crosse products that have worked fine for many years. I bought this one for my bedroom. The display is bright and clear. You can dim it at any time or program it for doing it for you at night. It works fine without the supplied AC adaptor (120V only), but you have to press the “light” button in order to read the display. If you are planning to use it without plugging it, do not buy it. Otherwise is an affordable and nice product.

Does NOT operate on batteries. This weather station will not run on only batteries. The description is deceiving about that. The La Crosse website says that the power cord is required for sensor updates. The screen is completely black until you press the light button. It will light up for a second but won’t stay lit up either. I’m returning it.
